This is what you'll look like when you unlock the power of landing pages on your Shopify store.

What is a Landing Page?

Okay so first things first, what is a landing page?

A landing page is a page that you send traffic to that has the singular goal of getting the person viewing the page to take action.

Now what that action is depends on your business and what kind of products or Services you sell. But the goal of any landing page is to get someone to take that action and that's it.

And the best landing pages don't give potential customers any other options than the one you want them to take.

Landing Page vs. Homepage

For example, let's compare a landing page to the homepage of your Shopify store.

The homepage of your Shopify store has the goal of showing customers the different products you offer and telling them more about your company.

But unlike landing pages, the homepage gives people a bunch of options as to what they can do next.

And as I said earlier, landing pages usually give people only 2 options, either take the action you want or leave the page entirely.

A good metaphor to use for this is a one way street vs. four way intersections.

If you drive into a 4-way intersection you have the option of either turning left or right but on a one-way Street you can only go one way.

In this metaphor the homepage is a four-way intersection and a landing page is a one-way Street.

Just like this street, landing pages give you the option of going one way or not going at all.

Homepages often have many different buttons and links people can use and the purpose of it is to allow for exploration through your Shopify store.

And when people visit your homepage of your website, they can go to different places on the site based on their interests. But a landing page isn't like that.

Landing pages give people the option to take the action you want them to take or to leave the page entirely. Those are the only two choices that they have.

Pro Landing Page Tip:
If you send the right kind of traffic to a landing page that is interested in what you're offering on the page, it has a higher likelihood of leading to sales than if you were to send the traffic directly to your homepage.

How Can You Use Landing Pages on Your Shopify Store?

Now that you know what landing pages are, let's talk about how you can use them on your Shopify store

Let's say you run a Shopify store in the clothing niche and you want to launch a membership program so that members can get access to new product releases early and get access to deals that regular customers won't get.

The reason why you want to start this membership program is because you know memberships are consistent Revenue which is great for business.

On your Shopify store you could set up a discount code for first time buyers to get some percentage off of their entire purchase. This is great to get new customers to take action but the goal is to get them to join the membership program.

You can use an email automation tool like Klaviyo to send follow-up emails to all the customers that recently purchased from you using that discount code. Think of this as like a welcome series you can offer to your customers to tell them more about your brand and offer them helpful content that they'll find interesting.

Using email tool like Klaviyo make it easier to build a relationship with your subscribers and customers. Email marketing is definitely worth your time so give Klaviyo a try.

And then at the end of that welcome series that could span about two to three emails, you can send them an email about your membership program and about all the cool benefits they'll get as a member.

Here is where our trustee landing page comes in to help us out. In that last email, you can send them a link to a landing page that is set up with the goal of getting people to join your membership program.

At this point if they've engaged with and read all the other emails in the welcome series, there is a pretty good chance that they'll probably join your membership program or at the very least be open to hearing more about it.

If done properly this kind of thing could get a lot of people to join the membership program which will allow for you to create recurring revenue for your Shopify store.

That whole process I just described to you is an example of something called a funnel and funnels are powered by landing pages.

Now if there's anything you gathered from that little example I just gave you, it should be that landing pages will increase the likelihood for someone to take action.

And if you want to make more money with your Shopify business, you should definitely try using landing pages.

That pretty much brings us to the end of the video and as promised I would like to give you a helpful resource that will help you create landing page that convert for your Shopify store.
